Plant Medicine

The human body is designed anatomically and physiologically to be in an evolutionary relationship with the botanical world

Plant Medicine

The vital force of nature is the same as the vital force of an individual human. We are reliant on the plants and trees in our environment to live and breathe every day. It is a wonderful informative practice to really stop and think about how much we take that fact for granted. In an over- simplified explanation; as we breathe out carbon dioxide, the plants breathe it in and breathe out the oxygen that we need. It is a perfect arrangement and reminds us that we are all part of the same ecosystem. We have evolved with the plants and trees and rely on their contributions to balancing our environment. It is these moderating properties that are abundant in medicinal plants and trees. They are responding to and protecting themselves from the environment they live in, and we benefit from that intelligence when we consume them.

Ayurvedic and Energetic Plant Medicine looks at the patterns of imbalance in an individual (i.e., tension, heat, stagnation) and applies plant medicines to those patterns (i.e., relaxing, cooling, flowing) to help with restoring equilibrium. Plant medicine gently corrects and removes the imbalances allowing your body to return to a more vital state of being. Ayurvedic plant medicine also focusses on rejuvenation as a key part of a healthy lifestyle.

Plant medicine comes in many forms and can be applied both internally as tinctures, infusions, decoctions, flower essences, teas, herbal jams, medicinal ghee/oil, in cooking etc. and externally as salves, poultices, body oils, creams, bath soaks, flower bathing etc.
