‍ ‍Rachel began her journey of natural health and healing in the early 1990s, after her own health crisis. After surgery, she began studying medicinal plants to support further healing from symptoms still presenting. This led to studying with Robert Stevens and Charles Brown of New Mexico school of Natural Therapeutics and an in depth understanding of the Nature Cure philosophy, Core Synchronism, Herbalism, Polarity Therapy and other bodywork modalities. In New Mexico, she also met Haleakala who taught the wisdom of Ho’o’ponopono and energy clearing that is an important basis for healing. Rachel graduated from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in 1997. This was the beginning of what continues to be a lifelong journey of healing and pursuing knowledge and understanding of what it means to be truly healthy.

Rachel has studied Applied Somatic healing with Osteopath, Dr. Brian Siddhartha Ingle, and Maya Gayatri Andersson-Schriefer of Living Somatics. She is a certified Living Somatics educator. Rachel studied Visionary Craniosacral work with Hugh Milne for many years and incorporates his wise teachings of Cranial Osteopathy and Poetry into her work. She has studied Ayurveda with a number of different teachers and is an Ayurvedic Health Counsellor. Rachel continued her Herbal studies with David Crow and K.P. Khalsa and was certified in Illuminated Plant Medicine in 2023.

She is an avid gardener and grows local or native medicinal trees and plants, as well as those from other parts of the world. Many of the non-native plants are valuable additions to the western apothecary, and many are now being successfully cultivated here.

Rachel has a vast knowledge of natural health and therapeutics and has a deep connected understanding of the process of becoming well again.  Rachel is passionate about spending time in Nature. She is never far from plants and flowers and is often found with her camera and a harvesting basket. She endeavours to continue to deepen her understanding of healing and consciousness, plants and the vital energy exchange that exists when we live in harmony within our ecosystem.
